HP is marketing its TouchSmart PC as a tool for the elderly, homebound and handicapped. They previewed it at the recent Consumer Electronics Show/ Silvers Summit in Las Vegas, touting it as a solution for the elderly.
The big draw: a touchscreen that allows you to navigate around the files and applications, and make shortcuts easier. A sleeker design, albeit larger screen. The computer is touted as “plug and play” …but it looks like anyone who is a PC newbie will need a sitdown session with a geekie nephew or paid Geek Squad to use all the features.
A little pricey ($1200) but… a homebound GFG would be able to watch Videos, listen to CDs, watch and record TV shows, conduct video and phone chats with one box set. Product information page.
